If there’s one thing that makes Colorado weddings special, it’s the way couples can weave together natural beauty, meaningful moments, and a sense of wild adventure all into one day. Lester and Jehann’s Boulder Halfway House wedding was the perfect example of just that. Their day included a deeply personal ceremony, laughter, and a stunning photo sessions that spanned some of Colorado’s most iconic locations.
From the intimate vows shared in Boulder to the dramatic sunset portraits at Garden of the Gods, every part of their wedding day was simply unforgettable.

A Peaceful Morning Ceremony at the Halfway House
Nestled right in the foothills of the Flatirons, the Halfway House in Boulder is a hidden gem for couples who want something rustic, scenic, and low-key. The Halfway House on Flagstaff Mountain is a historic stone shelter in the Boulder area. This location offers panoramic views of the Boulder Valley. Originally constructed in 1919 by the Boulder Lions Club, it served as the first public picnic shelter in the Boulder Mountain Parks. Lester and Jehann chose this historic stone shelter for their ceremony, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
As the sun rose over the mountains, soft light filtered through the trees, casting golden light across the field. With just a handful of close family members present, the couple stood hand in hand, beaming with excitement. Their ceremony was officiated by a beloved family member, adding an emotional and personal touch to their vows. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight. No stress. No big production. Just love, nature, and the people who matter most.

Lost Gulch Overlook: Epic Views and Endless Laughter
After the ceremony, we made our way up to Lost Gulch Overlook, one of Boulder’s most photographed and awe-inspiring locations. It’s easy to see why—it feels like you’re standing on the edge of the world!!
The wind picked up as we reached the overlook, adding some real movement and drama to their portraits. Jehann’s dress danced in the breeze, and Lester couldn’t stop smiling every time he looked at her. Whether they were snuggled close for a quiet moment or bursting into laughter over an inside joke, (or maybe a few selfies they took on their phone) their connection was electric. These two were a dream to photograph—genuine, spontaneous, and so clearly in love.

A Cozy Brunch with Family
Once we wrapped up at Lost Gulch, the couple returned to town for a celebratory brunch with their family. This mid-day gathering was full of warmth, laughter, and amazing food. There were sweet toasts, plenty of hugs, and a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly reflected the couple’s vibe.
Brunch weddings have become a rising trend, and it’s easy to see why. They allow couples to keep things intimate and casual, while still celebrating in style. Lester and Jehann’s brunch was no exception. It felt like a big family meal with a side of happy tears and incredible food.
Sunset Session at Garden of the Gods
As the day drew to a close, Lester and Jehann met back up with me in Colorado Springs at Garden of the Gods. The towering red rock formations is a favorite among adventure-loving couples. It was the perfect spot for their golden hour portraits.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the rocks glowed deep orange and red. The sky turned cotton candy pink and the couple savored the final moments of their wedding day. Lester and Jehann explored the trails together, stealing kisses and laughing in the fading light. The scenery was stunning, but it was their connection—so natural and full of joy—that really lit up every frame.
Photographing them here was the perfect end to a day that had already been so full of meaning and intention.
